Amanda Sumner

Physiotherapist

Since completing a Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy with Honours at the University of Birmingham in 2009, Amanda has worked in hospital and private practice setting in the UK and Australia. Having treated a wide range injuries and conditions, Amanda understands the importance of reversing the effects of day to day life and offloading over-used structures, and retraining the body in utilising new movement patterns. This has led her to completing courses with Dance Medicine Australia in the specialised field of Clinical Pilates.

As well as continuing her practice as a musculoskeletal practitioner at PhyxMe, Amanda runs individual and group clinical physiotherapy classes at Q Pilates. She believes Clinical Pilates can provide the bridge between injury and returning to activity, as well as offering a proactive approach for maintenance and minimising injury. Amanda's interests in this area include correcting ‘core' and pelvic floor activation, movement quality and patterning, and pre and post natal.

Amanda is currently on parental leave
